Safe Communities Act

On June 28th, CISA submitted testimony to the Joint Committee on Public Safety & Homeland Security in support of the Safe Communities Act (Senate Bill Number 1305, House Bill Number 3269). Our support for the Safe Communities Act rests on the importance of foreign-born workers in agriculture among other sectors of our local food economy, including restaurants, specialty producers, distributors, and wholesalers.

Robinson Farm, Hardwick
Massachusetts dairies matter

Massachusetts dairies are vital to agriculture in the Commonwealth and they produce millions of gallons of milk per year -- but many of them fight to stay afloat within a federal pricing structure that disadvantages the Northeast. Our monthly column in the Daily Hampshire Gazette explains.

Double your SNAP dollars with HIP!

HIP (Healthy Incentives Program) is a state-wide initiative that provides an instant rebate, up to a monthly cap, when you buy fruits and vegetables with SNAP/EBT at participating farmers' markets, farm stands, mobile markets, and CSAs.

Help us spread the word about HIP!

Farmers' markets throughout the Pioneer Valley need volunteers to help farmers and customers maximize the HIP benefit. If you'd like to help, please contact Mia Kortebein for more information or to sign up for an hour-long orientation in early August.
