HIP (Healthy Incentives Program) is a state-wide initiative that provides an instant rebate, up to a monthly cap, when you buy fruits and vegetables with SNAP/EBT at participating farmers' markets, farm stands, mobile markets, and CSAs.

Farmers' markets throughout the Pioneer Valley need volunteers to help farmers and customers maximize the HIP benefit. If you'd like to help, please contact Mia Kortebein for more information or to sign up for an hour-long orientation in early August.

Join us in celebrating the bounty of local food with a wide variety of small plates made with ingredients from Local Hero farms. Catering will be provided by Chef Andy Cox, head of Dining Services at Smith College. The event features great food, good company, and a tempting array of auction items. More details to come!

Simple Gifts Farm, a long-time fixture at the Amherst Farmer' Market and on the CSA scene, is shaking it up! With a bittersweet goodbye to farmers' markets, they're looking forward to opening a brand-new tfarm stand (grand opening on Saturday!) and connecting with their local community in new ways.
