What are you cooking this week?
This winter weather invites us to enjoy rich braises, warming soups and stews, piles of roasted veggies and hearty greens -- all ideal for the local foods on offer this time of year!

Find it all (you can search for specific foods OR for winter farmers' markets, farm stands, and retailers carrying locally grown foods) in CISA's online guide >
Already dreaming of summer?

Now's the time to sign up for a farm share! Sign up now for weekly distributions of the harvest, all season long. Or, look for farm shares offering meat, herbs, fruit, or plants!

Share your story!
Calling all storytellers! We are once again hosting Field Notes, a live storytelling event where community members share true stories about experiences with local food and farming.

This is a beginner-friendly event for the storyteller in all of us. No prior experience is required – we'll provide plenty of support and coaching. Spanish interpretation and financial assistance are available. Pitch your story by Feb 3 to be considered!

Resolutions in the face of climate change
It’s easy to feel like climate change is just too big a problem to even think about, and that there’s nothing any of us can do about it. And indeed, the list of challenges to local agriculture feels quite daunting. But we know two things: 1) local farmers are experts at resilience, and 2) they will need help. At CISA, we're committed to this work.

If you shop at River Valley Co-op this month, you can round up to the nearest dollar and donate your change to CISA!

River Valley Co-op is a champion supporter of local food, buying over $10 million from local farms and producers in 2021 alone, and more each year as they continue to grow. We're so grateful for their support in many ways!
