Thanksgiving approaches!

Local Thanksgiving turkeys are going fast, but it's it's not too late to order one for your Thanksgiving table! Find farms and retailers offering local turkeys here -- just be sure to check availability, since some options are sold out, and order soon.

And of course, don't forget local potatoes for mashing, squash for casserole-ing, apples for pie-ing, greens for salad-ing, and so much more! We can help you find nearby farmers' markets and farm stands, specific foods, local retailers carrying local products, and anything else your heart desires! Find it all for your Thanksgiving table (and all your other winter meals) here.

Crooked Trail Farm

Living according to their values while caretaking for animals and land fuels the team at Crooked Trail Farm's enthusiasm for their work. Co-owner Erica Goulding says, “Farming is something we wanted to do, and it is a joy. It’s wonderful to see the animals born then thrive. This lifestyle makes me feel happy.” Read all about them!

Special Feature: Bloom Woolen Yarns

Julia Mazzuchi, CISA's Local Hero Program Assistant, writes: "The buy local movement in the Valley not only encompasses eating local, but also wearing local. If you’re a knitter or a crocheter like me, you may not have asked yourself, “Who grew my yarn?” However, this is the question that inspired Lisa Fortin to establish Bloom Woolen Yarns, a business dedicated to growing, dying, and selling yarn and other products right here in the Valley."
