Workshop: The Cooperative Business Model

In this 2-hour introductory class, the participant will learn the fundamentals of a cooperative business. What is a co-op, what are the various types of co-ops, history of co-ops in the U.S., the international cooperative principles, how to use the cooperative model for any business, and learn why some say that cooperatives are a better way to do business. Come to the class because you are curious, thinking of starting a cooperative business, or wondering how you can support economic democracy in our communities.

This class is being taught by Dorian Gregory, CPA and Loan Officer for the Cooperative Fund of New England (CFNE), and a member-owner and board president of River Valley Coop. Since 1975, CFNE has been financing the cooperative economy in New England.
