Hiring: Field Crew and Packing Shed Assistant – Red Fire Farm

About the Farm: Red Fire has 100 acres in cultivation. They grow just about every veggie that can be grown in this climate. Their main business is CSA: they have 1,500+ members around the state. They also sell produce at their farm stands, farmers markets, and to wholesale customers big and small, including Wegman’s supermarket chain. They are dedicated to a seriously high quality product and hold a deep belief in organic practices. Red Fire is a large production farm with the heart and soul of a tiny operation.

Field Crew

Red Fire Farm is looking for healthy, happy, hardworking individuals to join its power crew of harvesters in beautiful Montague, Massachusetts. Preferred candidates have at least a year of previous farming experience, are available year-round, and are passionate about changing the food system.

 

Full time, Monday – Friday, 7 am – 6 pm with a one hour lunch break. Weekend on-call availability is occasionally required depending on harvest and irrigation needs and frost coverage.

Packing Shed Assistant

Red Fire Farm is looking for strong, enthusiastic and detail-oriented candidates tow ork in the central nervous system of the farm: the packing shed. If you’ve got muscle (or are looking to build some), want to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment, and like the idea of being the last set of eyes on hundreds of pounds of produce each day, please apply! This position will work closely with the packing shed supervisors to enforce quality standards, ensure items are properly allocated, labeled, and prepared for delivery on the next day’s trucks. Everything havested on Red Fire’s 100 acres passes through the shed before its final destination. This job is based at the Montague farm.
