Request for Proposals
Grow Food Northampton, is sending out a request for proposals from farmers and farm education programs interested in leasing soon-to-be-available land (at the Bean/Allard property) for agricultural use on a long-term (99-year) basis. The leases will provide farmer/lessees with the most important benefits of land ownership (including security and equity) - farmers can own structures on the land, and farmers will own and independently operate their businesses. Below (and attached) is our ad for this land. Interested farmers can contact me for an application packet. The application deadline is July 18, 2010. We are seeking the right farmers to join our project. Farmers may apply to lease any part of the total acreage and will demonstrate extensive experience in sustainable farming or farm education, alignment with Grow Food Northampton's goals, and a viable business plan.
