Hiring: Greenhouse Manager Assistant – Harvest Farm of Whately

We are looking for someone immediately for the Spring 2021 season to assist with customers, pull orders, and work with our team to ensure that pickups and deliveries run smoothly.

Responsibilities will include —

• Customer service:
  • Sell supplies, plants
  • Telephone, fax, copy
  • Write up invoices
• Plant care: Watering experience preferable but not required. Being able to identify vegetables, flowers and herbs to pull orders is a big plus. Bug scouting experience helpful but will train if necessary. Possible duties may include spraying (a nontoxic) solution for bug control. Be able to lift 25-40 lbs and handle a fast paced environment.
• Administrative: Tag customer orders and update information on their orders and on the spreadsheet printout. File orders. This is a detail oriented position so care for the details is a must!

40+ per week is the norm, Saturdays are usually a half day or the day off, depending on the how busy it gets. Our greenhouse season runs until June 30th, and we do have field work that may be a possibility as well to continue into the fall, but will require a separate interview with the field boss. Pay rate starts at $14.00/hour, but will pay more for an experienced individual.
