Connecting Point: Farm to Table – Winter Squash

This past fall Phil Korman, Executive Director at CISA, visited Plainville Farm in Hadley for the harvest of their winter squash. Winter squash is harvested whenever the fruits have turned a deep, solid color and the skin is hard. Most of the crop is harvested in September or October before heavy frosts hit the planting area.

Phil also visits A.C. Produce in Springfield to see how this winter crop gets distributed across the area.
