We are a family run operation committed to low-impact orcharding and the production of high quality, natural hard ciders and traditional cider products – cider syrup, apple cider vinegar, switchel syrup, fruit shrubs, and more! At Preservation Orchard – the home of Carr’s Ciderhouse – we practice regenerative agriculture and evolutionary orcharding – low input silvopasture for carbon sequestration, no-spray for avian and pollinator habitat, and traditional and experimental cultivars for pest and disease resistance. In addition to apples and pears, we grow small fruits (berries), chestnuts, heartnuts, hazelnuts, persimmon, and have many new experimental plantings we look forward to sharing in the future. Fresh, no-till and organic vegetables from Preservation Orchard Farm are sold in our farmstand, as well as lamb, chicken, and eggs from our co-farmers Meadow Fed Lamb.
Check out our online shop, or visit our farmstand. Our winter/spring hours are limited so please check our Instagram or Facebook page for updates and hours, or visit http://www.carrsciderhouse.com
We open our outdoor Cider Garden Bar at 295 River Drive each year from May through early November, Fridays 12-7pm, Saturdays and Sundays 12-7pm. We offer a variety of our hard ciders, plus non-alcoholic shrubs and fruit sodas, to be enjoyed at picnic tables under the shady chestnut trees. We are a family and dog friendly bar (please note that the bar is adjacent to our goat area so you can enjoy our sweet furry animals but should weigh your dogs potential excitement before bringing them – most dogs do great). We are excited to welcome Augustine’s Pizza Club back this season for the BEST PIZZA EVER! They will be set up with their incredible new wood fired oven Friday, Saturday, and Sunday. We also allow people to bring snacks to enjoy with their drinks, but please do not bring outside drinks – we’ve got you covered there.
Please note: We do not have indoor seating and close the Garden if it’s super rainy – so please check our social media or call first to see if we are open. We encourage people to ride bikes here or carpool with friends and family as easy parking is limited. If our parking field is full, overflow parking is on Stockbridge Road.

We have a farm shop located at 295 River Drive in Hadley.
When the weather is fine, we are open every day. If the doors are open but we are not staffed and you want hard cider, text us. The cider is in a locked refrigerator. If the doors are closed due to freezing winter weather, you can still text us at 413.336.7363 – if we can come out and help you, we will!
You can order gifts to be shipped anywhere by ordering here.
