About

Great Falls Aquaculture is a producer of premium sustainable fish. The farm is one of the largest and longest running commercial recirculating aquaculture systems (RAS) in the United States. Our systems are designed to mimic the processes of a natural ecosystem in order to utilize resources as efficiently as possible. This manner of farming allows us to consistently provide a high quality and highly traceable product year around, that has the flavor and texture profiles you and your family will love.

Great Falls Aquaculture also makes an Organic (OMRI Listed) liquid fish fertilizer out of processing scraps and farm mortalities that is sold under the brand Fish Brew. Available as both retail or bulk.

How We Grow

Great Falls Aquaculture grows fish in a Recirculating Aquaculture System (RAS). This means that the culture water is cleaned and reused multiple times. This style of aquaculture uses far less water than traditional flow-through aquaculture and ,being indoors, the farm is insulated from food safety risks like parasites or chemical contamination. The indoor systems also eliminate chances for escapements of livestock into the local waterways.

Wastes such as fish manure and processing scraps are collected to make fertilizers and soil amendments that can be used to put resources back into the soil systems. These soil amendments and conditioning products are sold under the brand name Fishbrew and are part of Great Falls Aquaculture’s commitment to being more sustainable and circular in producing seafood.
