A 2,000 tree orchard in Hawley, growing apples fermented into hard cider right at the orchard. I grow apples using IPM methods and do not use restricted-use sprays. I use only apples, sugar, and yeast to ferment the cider. The cider is crisp, dry, and refreshing. It is gluten-free and vegan-friendly. I slow-ferment all winter long, and bottle in spring. I never pasteurize or force carbonate.

I hope you enjoy the ciders. You’ll find them crisp, clean, and dry. They have bright apple bouquet and flavor, yet enough backbone to stand up to a sharp cheese or rich meal. The ciders are available at many fine local stores. If you don’t see them in your favorite store, please have the proprietor contact me.

Peach update

There are no peaches for harvest in Massachusetts this year — an unfortunate casualty of increasingly variable weather fueled by climate change. We are keeping the guide updated with information about other fruit that is available, along with farms that are sourcing peaches from other parts of the region.
