A bit about New England Felting Supply
Did you know the Pioneer Valley is home to the country’s first store dedicated to wool supplies and classes for handmade felt? Over a decade ago, our owner began experimenting with wools from small farms in order to understand and promote this relatively unknown fiber art. Since then, New England Felting Supply has become an internationally-known destination offering year-round instruction and 3,000 sq. ft. of unique inventory housed in a 1920’s theater. In addition to the region’s rich history of textiles and wool, we’re excited about the way our venture dovetails with the many recent efforts promoting local farming and agriculture. Our collaborations with shepherds, artisans and the public are constantly growing (especially the rug-making workshops offered twice per year!). The NEFS Local Wools Program offers visitors year-round access to quality fiber and provides shepherds with income beyond the fiber fair season. Please visit for a fantastic experience of being immersed in color – literally hundreds of hues of wools, fibers and felt is available for purchase. Take a rug-making class too.
