About

O’Brien Farm is a small dairy farm built on a hill in Orange, MA in 1989. We milk 20 cows, mostly jerseys.

We sell composted cow manure in bags or by the yard. Our loading hours are noon-2:30pm, Friday and Saturday only. Please call the barn at 978-544-1195 to schedule a delivery!  You may find our compost in bags at our farm stand as well as Hamshaw Lumber in Orange, MA and at Greenfield Farmers Cooperative Exchange in Greenfield, MA.

We also sell raw milk, yogurt, kefir, ground beef, eggs and seasonal produce at our farm stand.  Our yogurt and kefir, produced in partnership with Little White Goat Dairy, is also available at Quabbin Harvest in Orange, MA.

Peach update

There are no peaches for harvest in Massachusetts this year — an unfortunate casualty of increasingly variable weather fueled by climate change. We are keeping the guide updated with information about other fruit that is available, along with farms that are sourcing peaches from other parts of the region.
