Our heritage Gloucestershire Old Spot (GOS) pigs are naturally raised on pasture with no growth hormones or antibiotics. They take longer to mature, but you’ll taste the difference. The pork has amazing depth of rich flavor and generous marbling of sweet fat throughout, which produces moist, tender roasts and chops with incomparable flavor.
Our hogs are raised naturally and free range on pasture and woodland, without artificial growth hormones, antibiotics, or feed that contains animal by-products. We’re dedicated to providing an excellent life for our animals, and personally transport all our animals to a state-of-the-art, USDA-inspected facility that is Animal Welfare Approved for humane handling of animals.
Cost is $5.75/lb hanging, or “dressed” weight, and all dressing and processing fees, including vacuum sealed packaging, is included in this price. Price is approximate (usually totalling $500-$600), and is finalized at delivery depending on the weight of the individual pig. Hanging weight is typically between 180-200 lbs, so a half share would be 90-100 lbs hanging weight.
Your hog will be cut to your specifications, vacuum packed, labeled, weighed and frozen. Sausage (bulk or linked) and smoking of select cuts, including hams and bacon, is available for an additional charge.
Meat shares can be picked up at the farm or free delivery in a 30-mile radius of Deerfield, MA. Free local delivery also available for all orders over $300.
