Getting More for Your Milk: Partnering with processors to venture into value-added sales

February 16, 2022 @ 10:00 am - 12:00 pm

The Massachusetts Department of Agricultural Resources (MDAR) is launching a new initiative to connect dairy farmers with small-scale dairy processors. Ever think about starting your own brand of cheese, yogurt or butter? Do you need help finding a co-packer to make the product for you and don’t know where to start? Or, are you seeking ways to add value and additional income to your wholesale dairy?

Join our virtual Learning Session on Wednesday, February 16th from 10am-12pm, where we’ll tackle transportation, how to work with your cooperative to diversify production, food safety, business planning, the FMMO, and more. We will also share details on how you can access technical support to help you assess whether working with a co-packer will be feasible for your business.

Who should attend?

This workshop is co-hosted with CISA and MDAR. The target audience for this session are cow dairy operations in Massachusetts. However, this session is open to the public and any dairy farmer is welcome to attend to learn more about these programs.
