New York Nut Growers Association Summer Meeting

The summer meeting of the New York Nut Growers Association will be held at the Finger Lakes Nut Farm of Marvin Russell, 5287 Booth Hill Rd., Locke, NY 13092, on Saturday, August 26, from 8:30 to 3:00. The meeting is open to the public.

We’ll hear talks about the NYNGA English Walnut Project; highlights of the NAFEX/NNGA fruit and nut conference in Georgia; a comparison of the two species of commercial chestnuts grown in the US; the use of Cilus Plus, a product that is based on a phosphate solubalizing bacterium that promotes plant growth; and the constituents of soil for nut growing. After a brief business meeting and lunch we will tour the chestnut and hazelnut plantings of Mr. Russell.

Please bring a chair. The registration fee is $18.00 and includes a light breakfast, lunch, and handouts.
