Writing Our Way Back to the Garden

This series, facilitated by writer and gardener Jennifer Jacobson, meets on Sundays, from 2-4 pm at the Northampton Friends Meetinghouse.

Sliding scale $5 – 20 per session, no one turned away for lack of funds.

Are you a budding writer? A seasoned poet? A total beginner, looking for ways to connect to the earth and to build resilience after last season’s floods? This is your invitation to join me to write in community, in a generative workshop meeting for five Sunday afternoons from 2-4 pm.

Jennifer Jacobson is a mother, writer, curriculum developer, and community gardener. She is the founder of When Children Save the Day, a project that celebrates storytelling and social action. Jennifer’s prose appears in Switch, The Masters Review, jubilat, Chronogram, Linea, Storytelling Magazine and elsewhere. She has been honored with a Creative Teaching Fellowship from the Massachusetts Cultural Council, a Brimstone Award from the National Storytelling Network, and grants from the Community Foundation of Western Mass. She works at the University of Massachusetts Amherst as Director of Community Engagement and Alumni Relations for the MFA for Poets and Writers and Juniper Initiative. Jennifer serves as advisory board co-chair for Paperbark literary magazine, a convener for the Council on the Uncertain Human Future, and a creative writing instructor in Smith’s pre-college program since 2014.
