SUMMARY:POP Club for Kids at the Westfield Farmers' Market
DESCRIPTION:The Westfield Farmers’ Market is offering their Power of Produce (POP) club at this summer’s markets. The market is open every Thursday\, from 12pm-5pm until October 17\, 2024. Rain or shine! \nKids ages 4-12 are welcome to participate in POP Club\, a fun\, free program that encourages kids to discover the abundance of fresh local produce at the market. Kids exercise their own buying power while exploring the market\, trying new fruits and vegetables\, learning about where their food comes from\, and participating in activities . \nHow POP Club works: \n\nSign up at the POP Tent on any Thursday between June 6th – August 22nd.\nEach time kids attend the market\, they receive $2 in POP Bucks to spend on fruits\, vegetables\, or seedlings at the market.\nKids can choose between spending their POP bucks or saving them for a larger produce item.\nKids can participate in activities like planting seeds\, learning about pollinators\, movement activities\, and more.\n\n\n\nFrequently Asked Questions\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nWhat is POP Club?\nThe Power Of Produce (POP) Club is a nationally recognized kids program started at the Oregon City Farmers Market in May 2011. POP Club empowers kids to make healthy food choices while introducing them to where their food comes from. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nDo we have to participate in the activities?\nWe understand that not all activities will appeal to everyone and there is no requirement to participate in order to receive POP Bucks. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nWhat are the benefits of POP Club?\nPOP Club is a great opportunity for kids to try new foods and become engaged in making healthier food choices. POP Club also empowers kids to make financial decisions on their own. Each week that kids come to the market\, they can choose between spending their POP Bucks that day or saving them to use another week on a bigger item. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nDo POP Bucks expire?\nPOP Bucks expire at the end of the market season and must be used by October 17th.
