SUMMARY:Home Health Herbs: Garden to Tincture (and Infusion)
DESCRIPTION:Many easy-to-grow garden and wild plants can be used to improve your foundational health and natural defenses\, and to deal with common illnesses. The Home Health Herbs garden plan is a selection of cultivated and wild medicinal plants that offer healing. We’ll discuss the use of these plants\, and you will receive a chart detailing how they can be used\, and which you would be wise to include in your daily routine. Then we’ll dive into the garden\, respectfully harvesting herbs that are at their peak (weather willing). We will make tincture with the plants\, or will hang them to dry for winter use at the farm in infusions (strong teas that build our foundational health). Herbs as medicine work differently than medicines you get at the drug store. Your care and gratitude for the plant enhances your openness to it\, and its giving to you. The plant will give its life for you. Your task is to get to know each plant: its feel and smell and taste and needs. Visit our website to register.

SUMMARY:Plant Medicines for Lyme and More: Resisting Bacterial & Viral Infections and Building Immune Response
DESCRIPTION:Antibiotic drugs are becoming less effective as they are more overused and the microbes that they are meant to annihilate adapt beyond them. We will explore the benefits of plant medicine for fighting bacterial and viral illness (including Lyme) and for building our bodies’ resistance. Great promise lies in these medicines which are used by native cultures around the world\, and many of which can be grown locally or are native. These ancient remedies offer particular hope for those who can’t use antibiotics or are otherwise vulnerable. We may also go outside\, find a plant friend\, and spend some time listening with our hearts (opening). Informed and inspired by the work of Stephen Harrod Buhner\, author of: Herbal Antibiotics; Herbal Antivirals; Healing Lyme; and The Secret Teachings of Plants. Visit our website to register.

SUMMARY:Grow Food Everywhere Weekend Workshop
DESCRIPTION:Is there anything more important to health and survival than what you eat? In a world plagued by social ills\, disease\, and hunger\, we all can play a role in transforming our lives and communities toward greater health and abundance with fresh\, local food. Take back the power and learn to grow your own food everywhere—from lawns and windowsills to schools and urban lots. \nThis weekend\, through discussion\, contemplative practice\, and plenty of hands-on experience\, we gain skills and techniques to establish gardens and grow delicious food as nature intended\, with minimal labor and energy. \nGuided by farmers Ricky Baruc and Deb Habib\, we create beautiful gardens and raised beds\, and learn season-extension practices that prepare us to take the lessons learned immediately into our lives and communities. \nThose new to gardening return home with enough knowledge and skill to grow their own food. Experienced gardeners learn new techniques to enrich their current gardens. We all gain ideas\, methods\, and inspiration to transform our gardening\, communities\, and lives. \nRegister here.
