DESCRIPTION:CISA is holding its’ annual networking meeting to give Local Hero farmers the opportunity to meet with buyers that are interested in purchasing local products for their store/restaurant/distribution business.  The early part of the evening from 5:30-7:00pm will be an informal discussion about the challenges of getting farm products to wholesale markets and for buyers that attend we will talk about the challenges of purchasing local products wholesale.  We welcome Local Hero Farm members participation in this forum as well as all business owners that are sourcing local product.  The second portion of the evening will be open to networking and building new business relationships.  This institution is an equal opportunity provider. Learn to navigate the application processes for federal and state grant programs\, as well as how to write successful grant proposals that speak to funders’ priorities and make a strong case for their support. Melissa Adams from the MA Dept. of Agricultural Resources will discuss state grant programs and grant-writing tips for farms. Vince Snyder from the Natural Resources Conservation Service (NRCS) will explain the range of assistance offered through NRCS programs\, and an overview of other federal grant opportunities will be offered. Jeremy Barker-Plotkin of Simple Gifts Farm will share his experience successfully applying for federal and state grants\, as well as reviewing grants. Dinner will be served.
