SUMMARY:Speed Trading for Local Food Producers and Buyers & Marketing Plan Workshop
DESCRIPTION:Speed Marketing Plan Workshop & Speed Trading!\n \nSpeed Marketing Plan Workshop: 10:00am-12:00pm \nA Speed Marketing Plan is the Fastest Way to Increase Sales \nWant to increase sales for your farm or food business? Get more accounts? Attract more CSA subscribers? Do you have a plan for how to achieve your goals? A marketing plan works like a GPS to keep you headed in the right direction. Learn the four steps for creating a speed marketing plan. This interactive workshop led by Myrna Greefield\, founder of Good Egg Marketing\, will help you outline your plan and get feedback from other farmers and food entrepreneurs. \nThis will be followed by an informal networking lunch to keep the conversation going. Lunch is included in admission for people attending both the Marketing Workshop and Speed Trading Event. Food buyers and people attending only the marketing workshop can purchase lunch for $10 during registration. After lunch we will transition into the speed trading event for local food producers and buyers. \nSpeed Trading: 1:00-3:00pm \nThis event will encourage buyers and producers of local food to connect and form new relationships on a one on one level. Producers will set up tables showcasing their products and will have approximately 5 minutes to meet with each buyer. Buyers will be encouraged to share the types products that they are looking for as well as feedback on what they like about your product and what they think could be improved. If after talking the producer and buyer feel that they can create a trade relationship\, a match has been made! \nFood businesses can register for both the speed trading event and the workshop\, or only the workshop. The workshop is free for members of SBN and Central Mass Grown. \nEvent Agenda \n\nRegistration- 9:30am\nWorkshop- 10:00am – 12:00pm\nNetworking Lunch- 12:00pm -1:00pm\nSpeed Trading- 1:00pm -3:00pm\n\nFind more info and register here

SUMMARY:Produce Safety Alliance Grower Training – Grafton
DESCRIPTION:Fruit and vegetable growers! Wondering where to begin with food safety? Start here! The PSA Grower Training is currently the only FDA-recognized produce safety training to help growers implement Good Agricultural Practices (GAPs) and understand their responsibilities under new Federal regulations. Whether you have a farm that is fully covered by the law or a small\, exempt farm and you’re just looking for information\, this training is for you. \nThe PSA Grower Training Course satisfies the FSMA Produce Safety Rule requirement outlined in §112.22(c) that requires ‘At least one supervisor or responsible party for your farm must have successfully completed food safety training at least equivalent to that received under standardized curriculum recognized as adequate by the Food and Drug Administration.’ The training is also required for participation in Massachusetts’ Commonwealth Quality Program. \nCost is $40 and includes the required PSA Grower Manual ($50 value)\, a Certificate of Course attendance from AFDO ($35 value)\, and lunch and refreshments. \nThis is your last opportunity to attend a PSA training in Massachusetts this year. We will hold another series of trainings in several locations around the state early in 2019. \nWhen: Monday\, October 29\, 2018 from 9 am to 5 pm \nWhere: Brigham Hill Community Farm\, 37 Wheeler Rd\, North Grafton\, MA 01536 \nREGISTER HERE: https://umasscafe.irisregistration.com/Form/PSAGrafton18
