If you’ve felt  the itch to grow something other than  vegetables\, this is a great time to learn about growing natural  dye plants \, which can be  annual or perennial\, and many of which also have the benefit of showy flowers. DESCRIPTION:The Northeast Luminary Tour is organized each year by the New England Grazing Network and its member and partner organizations. The goal: to bring innovative\, in-person\, interactive grazing resources to farmers and farm service providers across the region. \n2025 Locations and Registration (click to register on Eventbrite): \n\nJuly 12th\, 2025\, at Wolfe’s Neck Center\, Freeport\, ME\nJuly 14th\, 2025\, at Vermont State University\, Randolph\, VT\nJuly 15th\, 2025\, at Shelburne Farms\, Shelburne\, VT\nJuly 18th\, 2025\, at Hawthorne Valley Farm\, Ghent\, NY\n\nEach day’s workshop will last from 9:00am-3:00pm. Lunch will be provided. Tickets are $30 for farmers and $60 for non-farmers. \nTHE LUMINARIES:\nDale Strickler is an internationally recognized agronomist\, speaker and consultant for more than 30 years of experience in agronomy\, pasture management\, and soil and crop advising while working in academia as in private industry. Dale has developed highly effective crop and grazing systems for numerous farms and ranches with a range of often challenging climates and soil types. Dale has consulted in every region of the USA and as far away as Hungary and South Africa. He is the author of the best-selling books\, Drought Resilient Farm\, Managing Pasture\, and The Complete Guide to Restoring Your Soil\, which was named a top ten farming book by Modern Farmer. \nDr. Elizabeth Heilman is a co-founder of Regenerative Wisdom and ecology educator with over three decades of experience. Her work integrates human and ecosystem ecology with social and political contexts\, focusing on soil health\, water cycle restoration\, local food systems\, and community based regenerative practices for sustainable living. Elizabeth is also a professor of ecology and science education at Wichita State University. Elizabeth has authored five books and over 60 articles\, and has delivered keynotes at events such as the Soil and Water Conservation Society\, NCAT\, and Farm to Fork conferences in Missouri and Virginia.
