DESCRIPTION:For those agricultural producers who received Paycheck Protection Program (PPP) funding\, Farm Credit East is offering an informational webinar to prepare producers to apply for loan forgiveness. This free session will be offered twice in a webinar format. The first webinar will be held on Thursday\, May 21\, at 9 a.m. EDT\, and the second will be held Friday\, May 22\, at 9 a.m. EDT. \nFarm Credit East business consultants Erin Pirro and Keith Dickinson will present these guidance webinars. They will discuss the requirements for producers who plan to apply for loan forgiveness after they have spent the PPP funds. The presentation will include a discussion of expense tracking and documentation requirements based on initial guidance issued by the Small Business Administration on May 15. Select your flowers and create two small arrangements to take home.  Come and explore your artistic side while enjoying a summer evening at the Farm. DESCRIPTION:FREE COMPOSTING WORKSHOP \nThe Food Waste Reduction and Composting Working Group of the Greater Quabbin Food Alliance has taught our communities about composting for the home\, business\, restaurant\, and event. Now this group is offering a more in-depth look at composting\, and is scheduling three free\, outdoor\, small-group workshops. Masks and social distancing will be required. \nGroups of 8 participants per session will get a socially distanced\, guided tour of Clear View Composting (a commercial compost facility in Orange\, MA). Participants will learn more about home composting and have an opportunity to purchase a home compost bin from a Franklin or Worcester County organization. \nWorkshops dates are: Sept. 11 from 4 – 6 pm and Sept. 12 from 10 am – 12 pm. \nSpace is limited and pre-registration is required; to sign up\, contact: greaterquabbinfoodalliance@gmail.com. \nThe Greater Quabbin Food Alliance\, sponsored by Mount Grace Land Conservation Trust\, is a network that connects people and resources within the local food system in the Greater Quabbin area and beyond. You can get the best salad and cooking greens while there too! And/Or…Stop by on one of the Garlic Saturday afternoons listed above to stock up and meet the Seeds of Solidarity farmers.
