Given the current political climate\, we firmly believe we must strive harder than ever to build an inclusive movement for a just\, racially equitable\, and sustainable food system: one that addresses privilege and access\, values indigenous knowledge\, and is led by\, represents\, and lifts up people of color and those from underserved communities. Inequity is present across the food chain\, manifesting through the low wages and unfair working conditions experienced by food producers and vendors\, the spread of food deserts\, and unequal food access in marginalized communities. Now is the time to reclaim our food system and advance food equity through social and political change. \nThe conference will explore the historical roots of food inequity and evaluate our current food system. No-till\, carbon smart methods treat the soil as sacred\, conserve water\, help restore the climate\, and result in amazing\, life-force rich gardens and food!  Ricky is one of 11 farmers across the nation participating in and advising Cornell’s research in sustainable\, reduced and no-till methods. DESCRIPTION:Cummington Fairgrounds\n97 Fairgrounds Road\nCummington\, Massachusetts 01026 \nSchedule online. \nFair Admission:\nParking – $10 per car\, $15 for a two day pass\nNo ATM available\, please plan accordingly. \nThe Pioneer Valley Sheep Breeders Association\, the Massachusetts Federation of Sheep Associations and the Massachusetts Deptartment of Agricultural Resources will sponsor its Annual Sheep and Woolcraft Fair at the Cummington Fairgrounds in Cummington\, Mass. \nPremium money will be divided on a point system from money available. \nAll Massachusetts sheep producers and woolcraft enthusiasts are invited to participate in this event. Camping is available on the grounds for vendors and exhibitors. There is a $20 charge for campers and a $10 charge for tents. Hook-ups are first come first serve.

SUMMARY:Support Your Local Pollinators - Native Pollinator Habitat Gardens
DESCRIPTION:With Amy Cozzolino of Wing & a Prayer Pollinator Plant Nursery! \nBees are a keystone species in almost all terrestrial ecosystems\, and many bees are facing troubling population declines.  Each of us\, in our own yards and in our communities can shift our gardening and landscaping practices to support bees\, other pollinators\, and beneficial insects.  This talk will introduce the principles and practices of creating pollinator habitat. We will discuss plant species that supply nectar and pollen and learn about larval host plants for butterflies.\nDonation $10+ \nAmy Pulley is a long-time gardener who is excited by what plant-pollinator relationships can teach us about living in a world where reciprocity strengthens resilience. Her enchantment with pollinators and with plants inspired her to create Wing and a Prayer Pollinator Plant Nursery in her backyard in Cummington\, where she grows from seed  and sells over 100 species of mostly native plants to feed a diversity of pollinators. She recently became active in Western Mass PollinatorNetwork  to encourage and support the creation of habitat in our communities.
