SUMMARY:Shared Harvest: Coming Together for Food and Justice
DESCRIPTION:Join us this Saturday\, September 12\, from 5-8pm at the barn for a cookout with us and our partners at Gardening the Community from Springfield. There is no charge\, but you can make a donation to GTC if you’d like. Bring friends and family\, eat some good food made with local meat\, veggies\, and bread\, listen to some good music\, and hang out by the fire (if it cools down…!) \nRSVP to help us know how much food to cook \nCheck out our newsletter this week for more information about the great work that GTC does! \nGood food\, music and company in solidarity with the work of Gardening the Community and Next Barn Over Farm. \nHear from Gardening the Community’s youth\, staff\, and board about their work for food justice and youth leadership in Springfield. Learn about the GTC EATS! Farm Share\, an innovative collaboration between GTC and Next Barn Over. \nTo become sustainable over the long term\, GTC needs to extend and deepen its network of support. Help us build bridges across the divides of our valley and create a more equitable food system. All donations raised will support GTC’s food justice and youth development work in Springfield. \nThis will be a kid-friendly event\, and we invite you to come even if you can’t stay for the whole time. Dinner will be an informal buffet\, followed by presentations\, discussion and music. Afterwards\, we’ll light a bonfire and roast up some s’mores. Feel free to bring family and friends –just please be sure to RSVP if at all possible so we are sure to have enough food! \nWe hope to see you there!
