• have shown a commitment to sustaining agriculture by working to make their farm profitable and successful
• have employed best practices such as Integrated Pest Management, crop rotations, and organic methods
• have represented Valley farmers at meetings, conferences, and other events to promote local agriculture
• have, as founding members of the Pioneer Valley Growers Association, worked to develop new markets and distribution channels
• have mentored beginning farmers
• have joined with other farmers to buy the Oxford Pickle Company, thereby keeping over 100 local residents employed and hundreds of acres of farmland productive
