The Massachusetts Department of Agricultural Resources’ (MDAR) mission is to ensure the long-term viability of agriculture in Massachusetts. Through its four divisions – Agricultural Conservation & Technical Assistance, Agricultural Markets, Animal Health, and Crop and Pest Services – MDAR strives to support, regulate, and enhance the rich diversity of the Commonwealth’s agricultural community to promote economically and environmentally sound food safety and animal health measures, and fulfill agriculture’s role in energy conservation and production.
The Massachusetts Department of Agricultural Resources (MDAR) is accepting resumes and applications for the position of Custom Slaughter Technical Assistant (Contractor). The contract will not exceed one year. The FY22 Final Budget provides “that not less than $100,000 shall be expended for costs to provide technical and financial assistance, including, but not limited to, facility improvements and staff training, to upgrade custom slaughter operations and exempt poultry operations to United States Department of Agriculture inspected operations.” The MDAR seeks a qualified applicant to fill the position and meet the deliverables of the earmark.
