Central Mass Grown is a 501c(3) serving the farming community of Worcester County. Our
mission is to promote the production and purchase of locally grown foods through education and
outreach. We believe in a strong local food system and the benefits it has to the community,
economy, environment and consumer health. We are seeking an Executive Director who believes
in our mission and is eager to work with our dedicated Board of Directors to enact programming
to impact our mission.

Job Summary
As the Executive Director, you will be responsible for the day-to-day operations of the
organization and will work in partnership with the Board to execute long term strategic planning.
Responsibilities will include:
– Manage membership outreach, engagement and database content
– Coordinate educational workshops and networking events for the members and other
stakeholders of the food system to fulfill grant requirements
– Work with the contracted graphic designer to develop content and membership data for the
annual Farm & Food Guide and brochure map
– Utilize social media and email newsletters to promote the local food system and highlight
content relevant to subscribers
– Manage state and federal grants, enact required programming and complete reporting data
– Attend regular stakeholder meetings to represent CMG and its membership
– Engage with stakeholders and advocate for legislation and governmental budget items
relevant to the local food system
– Maintain accurate documentation and reporting of the organization’s financial state with
support from the Board Treasurer
– Report regularly to the Board of Directors to ensure programming is in line with the mission
of the organization
– Develop new programming with the Board to expand the influence of the organization to
grow the local food system

Job Qualifications
– Possess skills to communicate effectively with the Board and regional stakeholders
– Proficient in Microsoft Office and Google Drive
– An associate’s degree or higher relevant to the work associated with the role; and/or 3 or
more year’s experience working in a related field
– Possess budgeting skills and an understanding of basic accounting
– An understanding and/or willingness to learn basic website management and social media
– Willingness to travel around the state to meet with various stakeholders
– Experience in fundraising preferred.
– An ideal candidate will have a passion/ familiarity with agriculture, environmental sciences
or the local food system

Job Type: Full-time, flexible work hours
Pay: $63,000-$74,000
Hybrid work acceptable utilizing the formal office and its’ storage of the organization’s materials
that is located in Rutland, MA

**The Board may offer an eligible applicant a gradual increase from part time to full time hours
and pay if such flexibility would best suit the applicant.
