Hiring: Farmers Market Manager – Lombrico Farm

FARMERS MARKET MANAGER

Location: Lombrico Farm, West Whately, MA
Hours: 12 – 20 hours per week (Weekends Required)
Start Date: Late August / Early September

Overview:
We are seeking a motivated and reliable Farmers Market Manager to join Lombrico Farm this Fall and Winter! This part-time role involves overseeing our market stall operations, ensuring it remains stocked, organized, and visually appealing. The ideal candidate will have excellent customer service skills, a good driving record, and the ability to perform physical tasks such as lifting up to 50 lbs repeatedly.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage and maintain the market stall, ensuring it is fully stocked and visually presentable.
  • Operate the point of sale system to process customer transactions accurately.
  • Provide exceptional customer service, answering questions and engaging with shoppers.
  • Drive a company van to transport market goods to and from the market location.
  • Load and unload the van with market goods as needed.
  • Ensure proper handling and storage of products, following health and safety guidelines.
  • Set up and break down the stall each market day.
  • Perform physical tasks such as lifting and moving product.

Qualifications:

  • Must have a valid driver’s license and good driving record.
  • Ability to lift 50+ lbs repeatedly.
  • Experience with point of sale (Square POS) systems preferred.
  • Strong communication and customer service skills.
  • Ability to work weekends and a flexible schedule.
  • Previous farmers market or retail experience is a plus.

Compensation:
Daily Market Rate of $150
(Free veggies and Market goodies)

Weekday on farm work is also available and starts at $17-$18 depending on exp.
