Job Description: Field Crew

Allandale Farm is a vegetable farm and plant nursery on the border of Jamaica Plain and Brookline. We are sustainable growers and retailers with an on-farm store open from late March-December. We are currently hiring crew to work alongside the field team and in cooperation with the Farm Manager in all aspects of harvest and production for our vegetable and cut flower programs.

Available from mid-April through November with additional work opportunities in December.
Hours shift seasonally, ranging from 40 hrs/week in the early season to 50 hrs/week in peak
season.

Responsibilities:
● Participates in daily harvest, wash and pack of field vegetables and cut flowers
● Participates in field production tasks like cultivation, direct seeding and transplanting
● Takes part in post harvest handling, record keeping, and inventory as time allows
● Performs field production and marketing tasks at the discretion of the farm manager
● Assists in organization for our 300 family CSA pickup
● Participates in preparing wholesale orders for chefs and restaurants in the Boston area

Qualifications:
● Previous experience working on farms helpful
● Strong work-ethic, excellent attention to detail, and strong time management skills
● Adherence to environmentally sustainable workplace practices
● Ability to lift 50 pounds repeatedly and work in all weather conditions
● Commitment to workplace equity and inclusion measures
● COVID-19 vaccinations and booster required for employment

Compensation:
● $16-20 per hour, commensurate with experience
