Hiring: Multiple Positions – Dave’s Natural Garden

Dave’s Natural Garden is a diverse family farm, operating on 40 acres. We produce greenhouse bedding flowers, perennials, hanging baskets, cut flowers, herbs, vegetable transplants, eggs and a variety of fruits and vegetables.  Dave’s Natural Garden farms using organic practices in our vegetable fields, and using beneficial insects in our greenhouses.

Field Crew Manager: The Field Crew Manager will participate in daily meetings with the Head Farmer and is responsible for directing the Field Crew in daily production tasks. The Field Crew Manager will work alongside the Field Crew, modeling efficient practices for high quality crop production.

Management tasks will include gathering tools and materials, training the Field Crew, monitoring harvest quality, providing ongoing feedback to the Field Crew and monitoring overall field conditions.

Field tasks will include harvesting, washing, packing, transplanting, hoeing, hand weeding, greenhouse work, caterpillar greenhouse assembly, care for our large flock of chickens, clean up, and other tasks as needed.

Qualifications:

• Experience in produce production is required.
• Ability to communicate clearly and comfort in training others.
• Ability to work with a sense of urgency in a fast-paced environment.
• Ability to lift 50lbs repeatedly.
• Driver’s License.

Schedule: This is a full-time position with the potential to extend to year-round employment for the right candidate. Hours are 8AM-4PM five days a week, beginning in early April, and will extend to 7AM-4PM six days a week, May through November.

Compensation: $13-$14/hour, depending on experience.

Field Crew Members: Field tasks will include harvesting, washing, packing, transplanting, hoeing, hand weeding, greenhouse work, caterpillar greenhouse assembly, care for our large flock of chickens, clean up, and other tasks as needed.

Qualifications:

• Experience in produce production is preferred.
• Ability to work with a sense of urgency in a fast-paced environment.
• Ability to follow directions and maintain a positive attitude.
• Ability to lift 50lbs repeatedly.
• Driver’s License.

This is a full-time seasonal position, with potential to start in April, May or June. Hours are 7AM-4PM six days a week, through November.

Compensation: $12/hour.

Farm Stand staff: Farm Stand staff report to the Head Farmer and are responsible for ringing up sales, assisting customers, cleaning, restocking, greenhouse maintenance, cutting and assembling bouquets, closing the farm stand, and occasionally washing produce.

Qualifications:

• Knowledge of and interest in produce and flowers.
• Ability to engage with customers with a positive and upbeat attitude.
• Ability to work with in a fast-paced environment.
• Ability to operate a cash register, charge credit cards and make change efficiently.
• Ability to lift 50 lbs.
• Driver’s License.

This is a part-time seasonal position, starting in June. Hours are 1PM-6:30PM four days a week, through September.

Compensation: $12/hour.
