Hiring: On-Farm Butcher Shop Operator – Bostrom Farm

Bostrom Farm is a family owned grass and organic farm located 3 miles from downtown Greenfield.

We have an on-farm meat retail and processing facility where we cut and process our grass only beef as well as pork into artisan sausages, steaks and other retail cuts for our farm store, farmers’ markets and CSA.

The operations person would be exposed to a host of opportunities in the art of meat cutting, curing  and  processing.  We are looking for someone that is passionate about artisan meats, sausages and related products, someone appreciative and respectful of the process who would like autonomy and add their own flair and talents.

Meat cutting and showcasing for restaurant or retail
Sausage Making/Stuffing/Tying
Culinary Experience and Training
Creating value added products (bone broth, curing, charcuterie)
Culinary Experience and Training

Must be able to lift 50 pounds
Keep working equipment, surfaces and facilities clean, organized and sanitized
Be able to pack, weigh, label meat and related products
Must be able to work with various customers and clients
Must be neat, clean and presentable for food service
Be able to use a computer and related equipment

Position consists of 25-30 hours per week in the winter and 35-45 hours per week Spring, Summer and Fall

Position is Tuesday-Saturday, Normal Business hours

Pay Starts at $18 per hour with increase based on performance
