Poultry Processing Crew

Reed Farm  (Sunderland MA) is hiring crew members for poultry processing in the 2021 season.

Seasonal, Part-time and Full-time positions available, with potential to become year-round and long-term.
Must be available to work all days (or some, for PT) between Sunday through Thursday.
Hours are usually 8am-5pm, 30-40 hours per week. Part-time schedules of 15-20 hours per week are also possible.

$15/hr to start, overtime at 40+ hours/week, plus chicken, and raises per skills and experience gained.
Experience appreciated, but not required.

Responsibilities:

We aim for the crew to be well rounded, adaptable, and able to jump in anywhere. So everyone does a bit of everything!

*various poultry processing stations: dispatch, cleaning, gutting, rinsing, inspection, etc.
*use of knives and sharp tools
*packing product
*clean up and sanitization of facility and equipment

Physical requirements:
*ability to stand for an 8 hour shift, with a lunch break
*ability to lift up to 50 lbs
*ability to bend, stoop, and lift up to 10 pounds repeatedly
*ability to work in a wet environment
*ability to work in a cool environment (packing in the walk-in cooler)
*ability to work in an environment with live animals
*ability to work with livestock and throughout the process of producing food from livestock

We are the only poultry processing facility in Western MA with a Small Enterprise Exemption License, which allows poultry processed at our facility to be sold in MA.
