Hiring: Seasonal Breakfast Cook-Castle Hill
Early bird, cook/baker wanted to feed guests at our scenic bed and breakfast on the Crane Estate. Come join our team and provide memorable, delicious breakfasts and afternoon baked goods daily in our fast-paced kitchen environment. This person will oftentimes be the first face our guests see in the morning and needs to be hospitable, dependable, and a team player. If you are creative in the kitchen and have a love for baking, we want to hear from you!
The breakfast cook prepares fresh baked morning pastries and hot breakfasts at the Inn at Castle Hill. The cook will also need to make cookies/treats for the daily afternoon tea. The breakfast cook will maintain an organized, clean and sanitary work environment. Knowledge of sanitation and food safety is required. All inn staff must be courteous and friendly when interacting with inn guests.
Essential Functions:

Cooking:

Bake pastry daily

Make granola
-
Prepare fruit plates for guests

Prepare a hot breakfast entrée of the day

Deliver morning “Coffee Service” baskets to guests’ doors

Maintain a clean, organized and sanitary work area

Includes dishwashing and thorough cleaning of kitchen after breakfast, as needed.

ServeSafe certified and ensure teammates in kitchen follow all servesafe protocols

Afternoon Service:

Prepare daily baked good for afternoon tea time.

Assist guests services team with making cheese plates

Kitchen Management:
-
Oversee food ordering with Inn management

Assist with training of breakfast servers and play lead in breakfast service

Assist with upkeep of Inn herb garden
Qualifications
-
Previous cooking experience is required
-
Must be ServSafe Certified
-
Positive customer interaction skills

Team player, creative with cooking and presentation, and positive attitude

Flexibility to work weekends and holidays are required; access to a car is necessary.
This position is based in the kitchen with commercial equipment and ovens that make the space quite hot.
Physical demands—the physical demands of the job, including bending, sitting, lifting, and driving.
Ability to lift 40 pounds required. Must be able to climb multiple flights of stairs (no elevator in the building)
This is a seasonal, non-exempt, hourly paid position, with an optimal start date in April 2023 (with potential for some paid training shifts in late March 2023). This position is based in Ipswich, MA at The Inn at Castle Hill.
