Local Hero Profile: Magpie Woodfired Pizzeria

The number of fantastic local farms in the Pioneer Valley, as well as strong demand from customers for local ingredients, make it easy for Magpie Woodfired Pizzeria owners Evelyn Wulfkhule and Maggie and Jim Zaccara to prioritize buying local ingredients. At Magpie, they pride themselves on  being a strong part of the local economy and work hard to have mutually supportive relationships with their staff, their suppliers (many of whom  are also regular customers), and with the community at large. Evelyn, Jim, and Maggie all feel lucky to live and work in an environment where customers value local food so highly.

“It’s a gift here in the Valley to get to work with so many small-scale local farms, who  are both fantastic suppliers and wonderful customers. ” -Evelyn Wulfkhule, owner
