NEPM: Wheel-view Farm

It’s Climate Change and Farming Week September 21-27, 2026!

This week, Monte and Kaliis visit John & Carolyn Wheeler at Wheel-view Farm. Stephen Taranto, Climate Project Lead for CISA, tags along to talk about Climate Change and Farming Week.

The Wheelers are 4th generation farmers, and their house and farm date back to the 1770s. Carolyn’s great-grandparents arrived on the property in 1896, and their daughter and grandchildren are the fifth and sixth generations to come.

Wheel-view raises Belted Galloway beef cattle in ways that really do try to address the climate change issues we’re all facing. Recipients of the Aldo Leopold Conservation Award, Wheel-view was recognized by the Sand County Foundation for farming in a thoughtful way that protects the environment, like the rotational grazing and that forestry and pasturing.
