Valley Bounty: Maple Syrup

It’s a short, sweet season–here now, but not for long! Now’s the time for a visit to a sugar shack or a maple-themed meal. For a quick maple treat, heat 1.5 cups syrup with 6 tablespoons of butter and a little salt (exact amounts are not important). If you heat it to 230°, then pour it over a generous 8-12 cups of popped corn, it will be sticky and delicious. Heat it even further, as high as 300°, and the syrup will harden as you pour it, making it crunchy and still delicious. Nuts are a good addition.
