Vendor Opportunity: Lexington Farmers’ Market

The Small Yet Mighty Winter Farmers’ Market takes place every other Saturday from January – mid April at the Waldorf School in Lexington, MA. This winter market is on the smaller size (~10 vendors total) with a good variety of product offering. They call themselves Small Yet Mighty as we may be small, but they have a bit of everything from meat & fish, to ready to eat foods, baked goods, and specialty products. Most of our vendors come from our regular season, outdoor market. However, our main produce vendor will not be returning as they sold more CSA shares than anticipated leaving the amount of veggies planted for market pretty tight. Therefore, we are looking for a produce vendor, preferably for someone who would be able to bring a variety of their own winter produce: root veggies, variety of greens, etc.

The Lexington Farmers’ Market is a 501(c)(4) non-profit organization that runs 3 markets throughout the year. The LFM runs a successful, outdoor summer market with ~24 weekly vendors in which has just completed its 14th season. For our summer vendors, we also hold a Thanksgiving Feastival the Tuesday before Thanksgiving and in January of 2015, we started our own winter market and have been growing it year by year. LFM Mission Statement: The Lexington Farmers’ Market connects residents with local farmers and vendors, providing greater access to fresh, locally-grown and -produced food to community members of all income levels. The LFM educates people about healthy eating, nutrition and sustainable agriculture, and provides a social experience that builds community.
