Hiring: New England Program Manager – Land For Good

Are you passionate about maintaining and expanding working farmlands in New England? Do you feel strongly about supporting local food systems and working in collaboration? Join our team! We have two open positions – Maine Field Agent (part-time) and New England Program Manager (full-time). This is a unique opportunity to work on the critical issue of farmland access and transfer in your region – and across New England.

Land For Good is a regional and national leader on issues of farmland access, land tenure security, and farm transfer and succession. Since 2004, Land For Good has been working with farmers, landowners, and a wide network of collaborators to put more farmers more securely on land in New England, to support farm viability, to expand farming opportunity, and to keep farmland in farming.

New England Program Manager responsibilities include:

  • Manage and implement new Massachusetts Farmland Partnership Program grant;
  • Oversee LFG field staff in southern New England (i.e. three direct reports) and related projects;
  • Advise and educate farmers, landowners, organizations, and agencies on farmland access and transfer planning; and
  • Participate in strategic planning and organization-wide leadership team to expand LFG’s impact in New England and beyond.

Maine Field Agent responsibilities include:

  • Consult directly with farmers, landowners, organizations, and agencies on farmland access, tenure, and transfer;
  • Deliver workshops and other educational programming;
  • Partner with organizations and agencies to evolve the landscape of available farmland and advance farmland access and transfer services; and
  • Champion equitable support of historically underserved and low-resourced farmers in the region.

These are remote positions. Candidates must be located within their service region, have access to a car, and be willing to travel.
