Farm Family Event: The Magic of Caterpillars at Quonquont Farm

Sunday, August 17th. Discover the Magic of Caterpillars–a Hands-On Nature Experience for All Ages!

Step into the fascinating world of New England caterpillars at this one-of-a-kind event that’s perfect for nature lovers of all ages—from curious toddlers to lifelong learners! Get up close and personal with live caterpillars displayed on their native food plants, with no barriers between you and these incredible creatures.

Wander through the exhibit at your own pace—whether you stay for a few minutes or a few hours, there’s always something to discover. Watch real-time caterpillar behaviors like molting under a digital microscope at our technology station, or enjoy stunning pre-recorded videos from The Caterpillar Lab.

In addition, you’ll have the opportunity to join a guided nature walk and discover the hidden world of caterpillar habitats across Quonquont Farm. Enjoy delicious wood-fired pizza from Longitude Catering and sweet treats from Herrell’s Ice Cream. Our Silo Bar will be open, offering a variety of refreshing non-alcoholic drinks as well as craft beer, wine, and other adult beverages. Be sure to stop by our farmstand, which will be open throughout the event with fresh, local offerings!

You’ll need to purchase a ticket, $5, sold by the vehicle. With your ticket you can bring as many people as will safely fit in your vehicle. Your ticket will also entitle you to a lemonade slushy! Tickets are sold by time slots. You are welcome to arrive anytime within the time slot on the ticket. Once here, you are welcome to stay!

PLEASE NOTE: You will not receive a physical ticket. Please bring your emailed receipt or the name on your reservation to check into the event. Please arrive within the hour indicated on your reservation. Once you are here you are welcome to stay! Your reservation is for one vehicle, you are welcome to bring as many people within your vehicle as it will safely fit. Normally, we welcome friendly, leashed dogs to the farm. But, for this event, please leave your dog at home.
