Forum: High Path Avian Influenza (HPAI) and Poultry

Attention poultry producers and backyard poultry owners: the Massachusetts Department of Agricultural Resources (MDAR) and USDA Animal and Plant Health Inspection Services (APHIS) will host an informational forum on High Path Avian Influenza (HPAI) on Tuesday, October 13, 2015 at 6 pm in the MDAR conference room, 101 University Drive, Suite C4., Amherst.
Presenters: Dr. Lorraine O’Connor, MDAR Chief Veterinarian Health Officer, Dr. Lauren Harris & Lech Szkudlarek, USDA – APHIS.
MDAR & APHIS are seeking to educate poultry owners about the risk HPAI poses to their birds in hopes that owners will take every precaution to prevent their flocks from being exposed. Additionally, we want poultry owners to understand what will happen if their flock becomes infected.
