Online Workshop: Balancing Life and Farming with Holistic Goal Setting

January 26, 2016 @ 7:00 pm - 8:00 pm

Your well-being is as important as the success of your farm business. Learn about creating a vision for your farm, and your life, that includes goals for profitability, effective resource use and quality of life.

Missy Bahret started Old Friends Farm in Amherst, with her business partner, Casey Steinberg, with the goal of providing fresh, organically grown flowers and produce to her community.  Bahret participated in the Beginning Women Farmers Holistic Management Training Course, created by Holist Management International, sponsored by the USDA NIFA Beginning Farmer and Rancher Development Program and coordinated by Communities Involved in Sustaining Agriculture (CISA).  Through the course, Bahret, along with other key stakeholders in her farm business, created a Holistic Goal, which has helped them make farm management decisions that balance profitability and quality of life.

For Old Friends Farm, a Holistic Goal gives their business direction.  “Our Holistic Goal has kept us on track for many business decisions and purchases, and helps our crew understand what we stand for and how they are an integral part of our business’s integrity and future, “ says Bahret.

Join us on the last Tuesday of each month of 2016 for “Inspiring Ideas from Experts in the Field.” Visit our website to learn more.
