Hiring: Farm Assistant – Northfield Mount Hermon Farm

Northfield Mount Hermon seeks a dynamic and creative individual to serve as a Farm Assistant. The farm assistant at the NMH Farm reports to the Farm Director, and is responsible for helping with all aspects of the daily operation of the farm.  Responsibilities include supporting overall farm operations, crop and product production, animal care, farm store management and order fulfillment, student supervision, and support of campus-wide initiatives. This position will work closely with students and will be responsible for supervising students in the work program.

The successful applicant will preferably have three to five years of farm experience; supervisory and/or teaching experience helpful. Bachelor’s degree in agriculture, natural resources, plant science, or a related field is preferred but not required.  This position requires the ability to do heavy lifting and to work the long hours in all weather conditions associated with farming.  Candidates must have a valid driver’s license and reliable personal transportation.  Additional qualifications include the ability to work collaboratively with a team, as well as being a self-starter capable of working independently.  Some weekend and evening work required on a rotational basis, some travel on occasion.
