We’re excited to share an opportunity to join Gould Farm, a residential therapeutic community in the Berkshire Hills supporting adults living with serious mental health challenges. The Farm Work Team Leader plays a vital role in our integrated model of recovery, where meaningful work, community living, and clinical care come together in an open, non-institutional setting.

This is a full-time, benefited position that includes residency at Gould Farm in subsidized, employer-provided housing.

Compensation

Starting at $20 per hour, with a comprehensive benefits package that includes:

Job Overview

Working under the leadership of the Farm Manager and as part of a multidisciplinary team, the Farm Work Team Leader helps create and maintain a safe, well-ordered, and regenerative farm environment. This role supports Gould Farm’s work program by mentoring and training guests, volunteers, and staff while participating directly in daily farm operations.

The position is hands-on and community-centered, blending agricultural leadership with therapeutic engagement. Responsibilities include dairy and livestock care, participation in milk processing and food production, and supporting guests through meaningful, structured work that promotes confidence, skill-building, and recovery.

The schedule is a five-day work week and includes one weekend day, with responsibilities for milking and daily chores.

Qualifications

  • 1–2 years of agricultural and animal husbandry experience preferred
  • Experience leading or supervising others
  • Strong communication skills and ability to work collaboratively
  • Commitment to community life and shared responsibility
  • Willingness to live on campus as a condition of employment
