Pay Range: $24.08-$27.07/hour (Based on experience and certifications – see below)
ServiceNet, a leading Human Services agency, is seeking compassionate, dedicated, and enthusiastic individuals to join our team. As a Head Farmer, you will develop and manage all aspects of production fields, livestock and landscaping operations, and related business ventures for a specialized vocational program for individuals with various disabilities.
Key Responsibilities:
- Under the supervision of the Director of Vocational Services responsible for planning, directing, and overseeing operation of business ventures including a farm, landscaping and associated business ventures such as for hire day work.
- Directs and supervises property, lawn and otherwise required maintenance of two Farm sites.
- Manages and schedules labor, equipment and material to accomplish needed production consistent with communicated customer commitments and deadlines.
- Maintain day to day working knowledge of all business contracts, orders, and services in progress including completion status and communicating project/order completion for billing purposes through regular communication with the Assistant Director of Vocational Services.
- Performing a variety of farm tasks including but not limited to weeding, planting, feeding livestock, shoveling, building, etc.
- Maintaining a positive work atmosphere by behaving and communicating in a supportive and respectful manner at all times with people served by the program, including the community, customers, co-workers, and supervisors.
- Coach and mentor staff and develop staffs’ skills related to properly performing work tasks.
- Working with farmhands and staff to develop problem solving strategies to facilitate farmhands’ continued vocational growth.
- Properly communicate potential product or customer issues to the responsible manager and following problems through to confirm resolution
- Assist in assuring a positive customer service experience.
- Visit job sites on a regular basis, observing organization of work, identifying and resolving training issues, and taking necessary actions to ensure quality.
- Responding quickly and effectively to emergency situations.
- Maintain high level of care of company assets in the field, vehicles, shops, and customer work-sites.
- Stay aware of best practices and develop and recommend improved work methods and standards.
- Representing the program at meetings as designated by the Director of Vocational Services.
- Attending monthly staff meetings, supervisory sessions, and other meetings as scheduled.
- Enforcing program regulations and policies.
- Performing CPR and First Aid to clients when necessary.
- Upholding client confidentiality and following applicable HIPAA guidelines.
- Maintaining an acceptable attendance record.
- All other relevant duties as assigned by the Director of Vocational Services or his/her designee.
Qualifications:
- Significant gardening, carpentry or livestock experience.
- Ability to connect with people
- A deep belief in the potential of every human being
- Valid driver’s license, acceptable driving record and a vehicle
- Excellent communication, computer and organizational skills
- Employee must be able to drive, have an acceptable Motor Vehicle Record and have reliable transportation.
- Employee must be able to perform CPR and First Aid
- Employee must be able to lift 10-25 pounds.
- Employee must be able to perform physically demanding farm tasks.
Compensation Pay Range Requirements:
- $24.08-$25.07/hr Base Range
- $26.08-$27.07/hr For individuals with MAP certification
- Base + $2/hr MAP differential
