Other Ways to Give

Many people like to leave gifts to causes important to them. If the future of strong, local farms is important in your life, one of the gifts below might make sense for you. Please consult a qualified legal, financial, or tax adviser before making a planned gift.

“CISA is an outstanding organization! Their knowledge and support have been really helpful to us–and we believe in their programs and philosophies. As a result, we have elected to name CISA in our will to support their mission for the next generation.”

–Eileen and Dick Gates,
Falls Brook Farm, Blandford, MA

Make a gift through your will

A gift made to CISA as a named beneficiary in your will is deductible for federal estate tax purposes. Here is some sample language you can use to make a gift that costs you nothing in your lifetime, but will have a lasting impact:

Sample language for an unrestricted gift in your will:
I give, devise, and bequeath to CISA, with its principal office at One Sugarloaf Street, South Deerfield, MA 01373, the sum of $ _______ or ________% of my residuary estate (or a description of the specific asset) for its general purposes without restriction.

Sample language for a gift in your will you want to limit to a specific program:
I give, devise, and bequeath to CISA, with its principal office at One Sugarloaf Street, South Deerfield, MA 01373, the sum of $ _______ or ________% of my residuary estate (or a description of the specific asset). This gift shall be used for ___________ (describe here the desired purpose of your gift.)

Make a gift through your retirement account

An easy way to support CISA’s work in the future is to simply name CISA as one of the beneficiaries of your IRA, 401(K), or assets from another qualified retirement plan. CISA may also be named as the contingent beneficiary of your retirement plan.

Make a gift through your life insurance policy

You can make CISA a beneficiary of your life insurance policy. Options are available that can result in immediate income tax deductions or future estate tax deductions.
