Farmer Educators Full-Time
Red Gate Farm is hiring exceptional individuals who are both ambitious and very hard-working. A farmer educator will lead programs working closely with children and visiting school groups on the farm, develop programming, and assists with farm maintenance and operation.
Employment at RGF requires a strong background in working with children and young people. Farm-based education and farming experience is preferred. Camp counselor experience or related work is also acceptable.
Employment packages include a salary, health insurance, on-site housing and board. Successful candidates will be ready for a minimum one-year commitment, will come with strong references regarding their work with children, and typically will have a college undergrad degree.
Farm Camp Counselor May 13 – August 9, 2019
Red Gate Farm is hiring farm camp counselors for the 2018 summer camp season. Our camps are small (up to 20 campers) and located on a beautiful farm in Western Massachusetts. Counselors are responsible for leading overnight and day camp programs. We are seeking fun-loving, positive and energetic people for our farm community!
Areas of Responsibility include:
- Farm chores with campers, which include taking care of farm animals
- Hiking on our trails and leading nature walks
- Prepare and lead team-building activities
- Live in and supervise tent cabin with campers
Farm Camp Counselors receive a salary, and on-site room and board. Work is primarily on weekdays with occasional weekend work required. Candidates will come with strong references regarding their work with children and typically will have or be working towards a college undergrad degree. Camp counselor experience is preferred. Some farming/gardening experience is great, but not required.
Farm Internships Seasonal: Spring, Summer, & Fall (8 week minimum)
