Hiring: Market Manger – Holyoke Farmers’ Market

Farmers’ Market Manager

Reporting Status: Position reports directly to the Executive Director of the Greater Holyoke Chamber
and Holyoke Food and Equity Collective Directors.

Compensation & Hours: 15-20 hours a week, year-round. $15 per hour. Flexible schedule with weekend
commitments. Must be able to attend all Saturday markets. Position begins July 5th, 2021.

Description: The Farmers’ Market Manager will be responsible for all aspects of coordinating the
Summer and Winter Markets. They will work directly with vendors, sponsors, nonprofits, and entertainers to provide the best farmers’ market experience for all patrons. Market Manager will actively work towards increasing food access in the Holyoke community through market decisions.

Responsibilities:
❖ Plan all Summer and Winter Farmers’ Market details including partnerships, venue relations,
event logistics, supplies, rentals, entertainment bookings, licensure, insurance, and permits.
❖ Ensure all markets adhere to CDC guidelines and other health and safety requirements
❖ On site management of every market, from start to finish.
❖ Manage all vendor applications, communications, scheduling, and reporting.
❖ Maintain relations with local programs which assist in grant finding, increasing food access, and
community development.
❖ Advertise the market through flyering, social media, radio shows, and other promotion material.
❖ Help develop new initiatives to support the strategic direction of the organization toward food
justice and food access

Requirements:
❖ Passion for farmers’ markets and the elements which come with a farmers’ market
❖ Strong written, oral, organization, and communication skills
❖ Spanish proficiency or fluency
❖ Proven leadership experience including providing staff oversight, mentoring and developments,
and establishing department goals and objectives
❖ Ability to lift 25-30lbs
❖ Must have a valid driver’s license
❖ Self-directed worker with ability to manage multiple deadlines and projects
❖ Ability to work flexible work hours and be responsive in a timely manner
❖ Motivation to increase market productivity and growth
❖ Knowledge of marketing techniques and ability to use different media platforms
