Presentation of “Root, Hog or Die”
This 40-year-old documentary tells the stories of the last old time horse farmers of Franklin County in their own voices, faces, ingenious technology and well-tended land. Newly restored and digitized, Rawn Fulton’s film provides vibrant and down-to-earth historical context for the resurgence of local agriculture, CSAs and micro-farming today. A piece of film art about our neighbors as elegantly simple as Shaker furniture. Directed by Rawn Fulton. 1974. B&W.NR. 60 min.
*Join the director and a panel of local farmers on Saturday evening to celebrate and reflect on local farming then and now.
