Job Type & Schedule:
Hourly, seasonal, June through October 24-32 hrs/week. Some evening and weekend hours required.
Location:Remote work; primary in-person work responsibilities in Springfield, MA and West Springfield; some travel required. Access to a vehicle is required.
Compensation
Hourly, $24-29 per hour, commensurate with experience. Paid vacation/holiday time. Paid sick time.
Summary
Our work is complex, our team and constituents are diverse. The Bilingual Farmers’ Market Coordinator plays a key role in supporting our marketing programs and social media outreach. Candidates must have access to a vehicle. We are seeking commitment, organization, and relational intelligence. A commitment to social and racial justice is integral to this work and required of all staff.
The Bilingual Farmers’ Market Coordinator will report to the Co-Directors. Staff in this role should demonstrate initiative, organization, excellent interpersonal skills, and follow-through. Staff in this role should also demonstrate an of understanding of the nuances of issues facing our constituents and an attentiveness to approaching and articulating these issues with sensitivity and grace.
About All Farmers supports autonomous groups of refugee and immigrant farmers in western Massachusetts.
We understand the barriers immigrant and refugee farmers face from a social justice perspective, and work with the farmers to support their success in spite of the systemic barriers they face. Our strategic priorities are directed by the farmers collectively and through farmer representation on the Board of Directors. All Farmers works with over 60 farming families, who share four farm sites. Current farmers come from 10 countries, and predominantly speak Maai Maai, Nepali, and Kiswahili, as well as Kirundi and Congolese.
Job Description
Responsibilities
● Markets:
o Staff the West Springfield farmers’ market (Thursdays 2:00-7:00 July through October)
and the Brightwood Farmers’ market (Tuesdays 11:00-4:00 July through October)
o Ensure compliance with rules & regulations at markets
● Enrollment & Outreach:
o Field inquiries from prospective vendors
o Complete and file vendor enrollment forms
● Equipment:
o Maintain market equipment
o Manage farmer equipment loans
● Social Media and Newsletters:
o Generate draft mixed media content – photography, videos, stories.
o Draft newsletters in coordination with other staff and farmers.
Qualifications

Experience:
● Experience working with diverse communities (required)
● Experience managing a farmers’ market or staffing a farmers’ market booth (strongly preferred)
● Experience generating engaging, mission centric content for mixed platforms – social media,
newsletters (strongly preferred)
Skills:
● Intermediate math skills (addition/subtraction, multiplication, calculator use, using a scale)
(required)
● Proficient written English abilities (required); excellent written communication abilities in
English (strongly preferred)
● Proficient use of Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, Google Docs (strongly preferred)
● Photography and/or videography skills (strongly preferred)
● Bilingual in English and Nepali, Kiswahili, Haitian Creole, or Spanish (strongly preferred), or
another language spoken by local immigrant/refugee communities (preferred)
● Prior knowledge of farming techniques and words (preferred)
